A spacious (75m2), airy two-bedroom apartment (sleeps
six in comfort) in Nice, France, newly available for holiday lets. The
apartment is really conveniently placed in a civilised and very
well-kept block at the lower end of the Boulevard de Cimiez, a stone's
throw from the Chagall museum, ten minutes' walk from the station,
fifteen minutes walk from the front and the centre with a handy
bus-stop right outside and buses every ten minutes to the centre. The
buses and trains are excellent, and will take you all over the Cote
D'Azur quite cheaply and usually in air-conditioned luxury. Antibes and
Juan-les-Pins are 15 mins on the train; Cannes and Monaco 40 mins, etc
etc. Buses go to St Paul de Vence, Cap Ferrat - everywhere - for a
cheap flat daily rate.
The flats were built in the 20s, but are 'Belle Epoque' in style.
The apartment is very comfortable, the sort of place that tempts you to
spend a day in now and again. This is our only property abroad; we
bought it with a view to retiring there and so it is an unusually
liveable-in place to find on the holiday letting market. There are two
large bedrooms - one with
twin beds and one with a double bed - and a
sofabed in the living area. There is a bathroom, a walk-in closet and a
huge open living area made from the hall, sitting-room and kitchen,
part of which you can see in the pictures. There are recent laminate
floors throughout; the furniture is of very good quality and was bought
new less than two years ago. The apartment has all mod
cons: TV, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, microwave and quiet,
effective cooling fans in each room, though as the apartment runs the
whole depth of the building from front to back there is plenty of air
and it never gets unpleasantly hot. It is fully double-glazed for peace
and quiet, and there are storage heaters and a neat little electric
stove for heat in the winter should you need it.
There is plenty of parking in the area. Please note that the apartment
is three floors up and as there is no lift it isn't suitable for the
seriously disabled. The stairs are cool, wide and shady with shallow
marble steps.
Nice airport is really convenient for the city. You can get a cab to
the apartment for about £20 or less (we can recommend an
English-speaking firm you can book with) - or there are buses into the
city centre, and it's a quick bus or taxi ride to the apartment from
there.
